Despite finalizing their divorce and focusing on co-parenting, it seems Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner haven’t fully buried the hatchet.

The former couple recently attended their son Cayden’s high school graduation in Santa Barbara, but noticeably kept their distance throughout the event. While both were present to support their son, they remained on opposite sides of the school grounds for photos with him.

Though Baumgartner is now planning a wedding and Costner has moved on with his dating life, the tension between them appears far from over. For those unfamiliar, Costner and Baumgartner divorced in 2024 after nearly two decades together but continue to co-parent their three children—Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. Shortly after their split, Baumgartner began dating her now-fiancé, Josh Connor. However, Costner claimed there was some overlap between their relationship and hers.

Baumgartner filed for divorce from the Yellowstone star citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their separation played out quite publicly over the next year, with several disputes—particularly surrounding finances and child support. (As a side note, this wasn’t Costner’s first high-profile divorce; his split from his first wife, Cindy Silva, was also messy and reportedly involved an affair, resulting in an $80 million settlement.)
